General Information/Philosophy of Care

Dr Czyz studied undergraduate medicine at the University of Lodz, Poland and obtained his MD in 1982.  He then continued his training in the department of general and endocrinological surgery at Copernicus Hospital, Lodz.  In 1990 he became a specialist in general surgery, obtained his PhD in 1992, and completed specialist training in laparoscopic surgery in 1998.  His special interests are endocrinological surgery and GI endoscopy.

Dr. Czyz is multi-lingual and speaks fluent English, Polish, German and Russian.  He is a member of the Society of Polish Surgeons, The Polish Endocrinological Society, and the European Society for Acute Abdominal Pain.  He has published many papers in professional journals detailing his research work on thyroid pathologies.
