Deborah has worked as part of the Shepton Mallet Treatment Centre’s team since June 2007.
As well as being a qualified nurse (RGN), Deborah has an MSc in Health Management. Deborah has 15 years senior clinical/managerial experience gained in the acute care setting. This experience includes international recruitment, being a member of SHA wide procurement boards and extensive investigatory experience gained in issues relating to professional practice.
Before joining UKSH, Deborah worked as Deputy Director of Nursing and Patient Experience, at Royal United Hospital (RUH), Bath. In the past, she has also been Head of Nursing, Clinical Manager (General Surgery, Gastroenterology and Oncology), and acting Director of Nursing at RUH. Previously Deborah worked as a Senior Nurse Manager for five years at University College London Hospitals.
Deborah believes passionately that successful leadership through enablement and empowerment of staff and clinical teams is crucial to organisational success and her personal aim is to continuously strive for excellence in patient care by improving clinical quality and the patients experience of healthcare.
