General Information/Philosophy of Care

Dr Rapcan completed his undergraduate medical training in Czechoslovakia in May 1993 and in April 1998 obtained his specialist registration in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care. 

Between 1998 and May 2000 he was consultant anaesthetist at St. Jacob Hospital, Bardejov, Slovakia.  From May 2000 to July 2005 he has been consultant anaesthetist at Norrlands University Hospital, Umea, Sweden where he had responsibility for regional anaesthesia and acute pain management within the orthopaedic surgery department.  He has special interest in Ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks.

In his spare time Dr Rapcan enjoys family life, skiing, digital photography and martial arts.
