· This person will be responsible for ensuring the successful design, delivery and management of technology within UKSH.
· These responsibilities will include managing the selection and implementation of management and clinical IT systems, managing existing systems and ensuring necessary infrastructure and network support.
· It is intended that the responsibilities for this role will grow so they will become the senior advisor to the board on technology.
· Responsible for budget control across the IT department.
· Bristol based to demonstrate commitment to Local Health Economy and to establish effective operating presence within the local area. One member of the team will be expected on site at each of the major facilities at any one time.
· Occasional visits to Group HQ in London will be required.
· Circa £50k-£60k, depending on experience, to be discussed and agreed through formal interview process.
· Formal reporting line into Director of Commissioning for AGW until Service Commencement.
· Day-to-day reporting line into Director of Commissioning for AGW.
· Ad-hoc reporting line into Group Advisor on IM&T - to ensure consistency with Group standards and initiatives.
Suitable qualified candidates will have:
· Extensive and broad experience of technology ranging from strategy through to systems delivery and day-to-day management. This experience could be gained in a consultancy or line management role.
· Successfully lead systems implementations with experience of all stages of the project life cycle which will most probable include budgetary and people responsibility. Experience of Prince2 and ITIL frameworks.
· Proven ability to operate at all levels in an organisation, including at board level.
· Experience within a technology dependent industry sector ideally with first hand knowledge of healthcare/NHS and a provider environment.
· System and package selection experience, having designed and specified requirements and negotiated contracts.
· Worked closely with third parties and will have extensive experience of managing suppliers.
· Track-record of specifying, procuring and managing contracts for software, hardware and services with values of £2.0 million, and above.
· Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
· Proven people-manager
· Creative and determined with the ability to solve problems
· Ability to listen well and present information to both technical and non technical audiences
