A hip replacement is an operation in which the surgeon removes damaged or diseased parts of the patient’s hip joint and replaces them with new artificial parts. The operation is called hip arthroplasty. The artificial joint is called a prosthesis.
You will experience moderate pain after surgery. However, the medical staff will ensure your pain is under control.
The hospital stay generally lasts 4 days, but you will not be sent home until your consultant, your physiotherapist and you feel comfortable.
Our ability at SMTC to provide you with a speedy recovery is due to our expertise, commitment, and regularly reviewed education programme.
