Mona van Wyk, Head of Nursing and Clinical Services, UKSH South West

Mona joined UKSH in June 2010, and is responsible for providing professional nursing and clinical leadership at Emersons Green, Cirencester and Devizes NHS Treatment Centres.
 
Mona has more than 30 years of nursing experience (clinical and managerial) both in the UK and South Africa and has worked in a Nursing Management position within the ISTC environment in the UK for the past six years. She is a Registered Nurse and Midwife, and has completed numerous directly related and complementary training courses, including Infection Control. She is a member of the Chief Nursing Officers Independent Sector Group which provides a resource of expert advice for the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), Department of Health and a focus for the independent sector nursing in line with the government policy.

Prior to joining UKSH, Mona was Nursing Director at Care UK, where she was responsible for commissioning and ensuring the adequate operation and continued quality improvement of clinical services in seven treatment centers.

Mona’s experience includes a strong grounding in both hands-on management and strategy. She is passionate about ensuring that the highest quality of healthcare is provided to patients and is committed to maintaining excellent standards of customer service.
