Mr Hegedus has performed more than 1,500 operations in the last four years, mainly primary hip and knee replacements. He has also performed knee arthroscopies, carpal tunnel releases and foot osteotomies, as well as 300 other minor orthopaedic interventions.

Between 2005 and 2007, he held the post of Clinical Lead of the Orthopaedic Team at the Greater Manchester Surgical Centre (NHS Treatment Centre), Manchester, where he represented and coordinated the work of the consultants.
