Mr Marafko graduated from Semmelweis University in Hungary in 1988. He qualified in Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine and Acupuncture.
He underwent specialist training in manual therapy and worked in trauma in Hungary, as well as training in paediatric orthopaedics. Mr Marafko was awarded his postgraduate MSc by Manchester Metropolitan University in 2010.
Mr Marafko specialises in major joint replacement, arthroscopy, foot surgery and sports surgery. He has also taken part in the METHRO II. clinical study for the Astra Hassle Research Centre in Sweden and has participated in many national and international courses. These include the Exeter Hip Course (UK), Primary TKR and Revision (Austria/Germany), Arthrex Knee and Shoulder Course (Brunel University, London), ACL and Multiligament Knee Course (Royal College of Surgeons, London), 3rd Liverpool Foot Course and the Intermediate Ankle Training Course (Switzerland).
