Dr Czyz studied undergraduate medicine at the University of Lodz, Poland and obtained his MD in 1982. He then continued his training in the department of general and endocrinological surgery at Copernicus Hospital, Lodz.

In 1990 he became a specialist in general surgery, obtained his PhD in 1992, and completed specialist training in laparoscopic surgery in 1998. His special interests are endocrinological surgery and GI endoscopy.

Dr Czyz joined Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre as a Consultant General Surgeon in July 2005.
