Dr Hamza graduated from the Medical University of Debrecen, Hungary in 1995. He worked for two years as a trainee gynaecologist and started his training in anaesthesia and intensive care in 1997.

Since 2002, he has been working as a specialist. In 2005, he worked at the Cardiac Surgery Unit at the University of Debrecen before taking a consultant post at the Greater Manchester Surgical Centre (NHS Treatment Centre), Manchester.
