UK Specialist Hospitals has appointed Robin Smith to oversee its expansion in the South West.
Robin Smith joins from Dorset PCT, where he was Chief Executive and will act as Chairman of UKSH South West. He will play a key role in the opening of UKSH’s three new hospitals across the South West in 2009.
Robin brings an unparalleled depth of understanding of healthcare delivery in the South West and his experience will help guide UKSH South West in delivering high quality patient care for the NHS.
With over 30 years experience in the National Health Service, Robin has held a variety of senior manager roles within the NHS, including Chief Executive of Mendip PCT, Health Authority Director of Commissioning, NHS Trust Director of Service Development and Director of Estates and Facilities.

Robin was born on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset and educated at Bournemouth, Southampton and Bristol Universities.
