Swedish innovator joins Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre

Peter Kimme, a specialist in intensive care, has joined Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre as medical director.

Peter joins from Linköping University Hospital in Sweden, where he was a consultant. His previous roles include heading departments of anaesthesiology, intensive care, ER and medical techniques – simultaneously. In addition to his clinical research on the brain and hypothermia, Peter has extensive postgraduate medical and managerial qualifications. He also lectures and participates in the training of future leaders. “Medically, there is a challenge in helping to combine the best from different medical cultures and trying to implement more efficient processes,” said Peter. “We have the potential here to develop a centre of excellence.
