Patients praise local hospitals

The quarterly patient satisfaction results for Cirencester, Devizes and Emersons Green NHS Treatment Centres, operated by UK Specialist Hospitals, have revealed that 99 per cent of patients sampled between October and December 2010 would recommend the centres to a friend.
The survey, which is given to all patients upon discharge from the centres, also found that 99 per cent of patients believed the treatment centres to be welcoming and clean, while 94 per cent of inpatients said the catering met their expectations. The patient satisfaction results reinforce UK Specialist Hospital’s recent win of the prestigious Laing & Buisson Award for Hotel Services, evaluating cleanliness, food and patient service.
The Laing & Buisson Independent Healthcare Awards are the most prestigious awards for privately run hospitals in the UK. UKSH went head to head with leading private hospitals such as Bupa Cromwell Road, last year’s winner, and Harley Street Clinic in this year’s final to secure the Hotel Services award. UKSH runs five NHS treatment centres in the South West treating NHS patients.

Emersons Green NHS Treatment Centre is a purpose-built surgical facility located in north-east Bristol providing both outpatient and inpatient elective procedures to NHS patients.
Cirencester and Devizes NHS Treatment Centres are day-surgery facilities specialising in providing NHS patients with swift access to a range of elective procedures.
Treatments available at the hospitals include dental extraction, ear nose and throat procedures, general surgery, gynaecology, joint replacement, minor orthopaedic surgery, ophthalmology, pain management and urology.
Inpatients at Emersons Green NHS Treatment Centre enjoy free personal televisions, phone calls and internet access, as well as fresh and nutritious meals provided by an on-site chef.
All NHS patients can choose where to have their treatment by speaking to their GP.
UKSH currently operates five hospitals in the South West: Cirencester NHS Treatment Centre (Gloucestershire), Devizes NHS Treatment Centre (Wiltshire), Emersons Green NHS Treatment Centre (Bristol), Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre (Plymouth) and Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre (Somerset).
