Our vision is to achieve excellent clinical results, provide our patients with friendly and efficient care and offer a high-quality patient experience. Following the Department of Health’s decision to create a network of Independent Sector Treatment Centres (ISTCs), UKSH was awarded one of the major ISTC contracts in 2004. Our first facility, the Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre opened on 18 July 2005.
