Mr Malikireddy graduated in dentistry and completed his postgraduate MDS (1994—1997) in oral and maxillofacial surgery in India. He later gained his fellowship FDS RCS (1999) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh while working as a Senior House Officer at Monklands Hospital, Airdrie, Scotland.

During 2002 he gained another fellowship in oral implantology with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in the USA. Mr Malikireddy has worked in both dental schools and hospitals delivering academic and clinical oral surgical work. He worked as a trust registrar at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton for five years before taking on his current position.

Mr Malikireddy is a member of the British Association of Oral Surgeons and the British Dental Association. He is an examiner at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh for membership in the oral surgery exam.
