After completing her bachelors degree in dental surgery, Dr Ranganathan completed a masters in oral surgery and a National Board Diploma in New Delhi. Her experience spans from academia to the provision of specialist oral surgery services in hospitals and dental practices, both under the NHS and on a private basis. She is a GDC registered specialist in oral surgery and worked as a lecturer for three years before moving to the UK where she worked as a Senior House Officer at St John’s Hospital, Livingston, later moving to Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. She was also a staff grade Oral Surgeon in the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading.

Dr Ranganathan is currently involved in providing specialist oral surgery services for West Berkshire PCT and North Surrey PCT. She is also an examiner for the Postgraduate Dental Diploma, conducted by the Royal College of Surgeons in England.
