Mr Bardos trained at the Medical School in Pecs, Hungary, where he achieved full marks with summa cum laude.

As a postdoctoral research fellow, he spent three years in Chicago at Rush University as an assistant professor, and completed his PhD in 2002. As a postgraduate Mr Bardos did his training in Hungary and in the UK, completing his studies in 2005.

Mr Bardos is a member of the International Cartilage Repair Society, and the Hungarian Orthopaedic Association. He has completed numerous research grants in the field of cartilage repair and has several first author and co-author publications in prestigious international journals.
