Mr Evans qualified at St Thomas' Hospital in London and has held orthopaedic training appointments at St. Thomas', Guy's Hospital, Southampton General Hospital and the Albert Einstein Hospital in New York. Before becoming a consultant he was an AO fellow studying pelvic fracture reconstruction and hip replacement techniques
From 1996 to 2004 he was a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Derriford Hospital dealing with general orthopaedics and trauma with a particular interest in children’s orthopaedics and cerebral palsy.
Since 1976 Mr Evans has performed over 2000 hip replacements and more than 750 knee replacements. He is also a member of the British Medical Association and the British Orthopaedic Association.
He is a member of a Royal College of Surgeons steering group overseeing a Department of Health funded study comparing joint replacement outcomes at Treatment Centres with those in the NHS more widely.
