Mr Yaaghoub Tashter attended medical school in Debrecen, Hungary. After completing medical school he pursued his specialisation in ophthalmology within the faculty of Debrecen, one of the oldest and most prestigious ophthalmic departments in Hungary. Mr Tashter followed his successful specialisation with a course in the sub-speciality of posterior vitrectomy.

Mr Tashter has practiced ophthalmology as an Associate Professor in Hungary and Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in the UK. He has been a member of the General Medical Council in the UK as a Specialist Registrar since 2004.

Additionally he has taken part in numbers of studies and teaching programmes for medical students and junior doctors.
