Dr Garas graduated from Semmelweis University, Hungary in 1996. He was a Medical SHO before becoming an anaesthetist and ICU doctor in South-Pest Jahn Ferenc Hospital, Hungary. He continued working as a specialist until becoming a Consultant Anaesthetist and helping in the formation and development of the hospital’s Emergency Department.

Whilst maintaining his position as Locum Consultant in the ICU, Dr Garas became Consultant Anaesthetist in Vaszary Kolos Hospital in 2003 and gained experience in the anaesthesia of traumatic patients.

Dr Garas moved to the UK in 2009 and worked as a staff grade doctor for Blackburn Royal Hospital and Burnley General Hospital before becoming Consultant Anaesthetist at UKSH in 2011.
