Dr Dinev studied at the Higher Medical Institute in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria and became a Master of Medicine in 1995. He worked at the Dr Ivan Seliminski Community Hospital in Sliven, Bulgaria for thirteen years where he supervised trainee anaesthetists and took responsibility for their work in the operating theatre and in the ICU.

He became a Consultant Anaesthetist in 2008 after training at the Thracian University of Stara Zagora and has performed over 4770 general and 1840 regional anaesthesias to date.

He has been working in the UK for three years, most recently as a Locum Staff Grade Anaesthetist at West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven, Cumbria. He joined UKSH as a Consultant Anaesthetist in January 2012.
