Dr Klossowska-Albinska graduated from the Warsaw Medical Academy in Poland in 1982 and began her career as a paediatric anaesthetist at the Institute of Mother and Child in Warsaw. She achieved her first specialist qualification in anaesthesiology and intensive care in 1987. She then took up the position as the only consultant anaesthetist at a district hospital in Tunisia.
Dr Klossowska-Albinska gained her second specialist qualification in anaesthesiology in 1991, after which she took up a post in Malta at the University Hospital. Here she gained experience in anaesthesia in all surgical specialities except cardio surgery, including rotation in a very busy multidisciplinary 15-bedded ICU. In 2000 she was Medical Director in an American Medical Centre in Warsaw, and Head Physician at one of the first private hospitals in Warsaw, Poland.
In 2004, Dr Klossowska-Albinska moved to the UK into a staff grade position to familiarise herself with the NHS. She then became a consultant anaesthetist at the East Lancashire Hospital NHS Trust before joining the Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre in 2009.
