Dr Hargitai graduated from the Semmelweis University Budapest, Hungary in 1996. After his graduation he worked as an anaesthetist and intensive care physician, and after five years of training he passed his speciality exam in 2001.

In 2002, he joined the first Department of Surgery at the Semmelweis University. He gained widespread experience in different fields of anaesthesia and intensive care. Dr Hargitai became the Diplomate of the European Academy of Anaesthesiology in 2004. Since 2005, he has worked as a consultant anaesthetist in the UK.
