UK Specialist Hospitals (UKSH) was recently presented with a prestigious award for Hotel Services. The award recognises excellence in cleanliness, food and patient service. UKSH was also a finalist in the Healthcare Outcomes category.
The Laing & Buisson Independent Healthcare Awards are the most prestigious awards for privately run hospitals in the UK. UKSH went head to head with leading private hospitals such as Bupa Cromwell Road, last year’s winner, and Harley Street Clinic in this year’s final to secure the Hotel Services award.
UKSH operates five treatment centres across the South West focussed on delivering high-quality clinical services to NHS patients. The centres are located in Cirencester, Devizes, Emersons Green, Shepton Mallet and Plymouth.
UKSH delivers planned surgical procedures on behalf of the NHS and prides itself on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and patient care. NHS patients can take advantage of all the award winning services and facilities by speaking to their GP about their treatment choices.
Commenting on the award, Fiona Calnan, UKSH CEO, said: “We are thrilled to win the Hotel Services award which reflects the hard work and dedication of all our staff. It is an excellent endorsement of our focus on cleanliness, low infection rates and patient service at all our hospitals. We hope the award will make more NHS patients aware of the facilities and services they can access locally”.
UKSH has treated over 44,000 NHS patients since opening its first treatment centre in July 2005.
