Private Care Hospital likely to be approved

A new private care hospital commissioned by the Department of Health to provide an Independent Sector Treatment Centre (ISTC) at Emersons Green looks set to win final planning approval.

The ISTC is in addition to the community hospital planned for Frenchay Hospital when it is downgraded to a 50-bed unit as part of the Bristol Health Services plan which will see Southmead take on the role as the acute hospital for the north Bristol area and South Gloucestershire.
